Privacy and permissions

Read this before you pay.

You should not have to take our word for it. This page says what Umer OS can and cannot do, and shows you how to check it on your own phone.

The short version

  • Umer OS has no internet permission. Android itself stops it sending anything off your phone.
  • Nothing is collected. No messages, photos, contacts, browsing history or location are saved or sent.
  • No account, no sign-up. Your licence key is checked on the phone, offline.
  • The only thing you ever share is your Device ID, and only when you send it to us yourself to get a key.

Check it yourself, without trusting us

  1. Open Android Settings > Apps > Umer OS > Permissions. There is no internet or network entry.
  2. Open Settings > Network & internet > Data usage (the wording differs by phone) and look at Umer OS. It shows 0 B.
  3. Turn on Airplane mode. Umer OS works exactly the same, because it never needed the internet.
  4. Inside the app, tap “Your privacy: see the proof” for a live check.

About the Accessibility permission

Android treats Accessibility as a powerful permission, because in general it lets an app see what is on your screen. We would rather say that plainly than hide it.

Umer OS needs it for one purpose: spotting blocked screens, so it can send you home. It keeps nothing. And the missing internet permission is what makes this safe: even if the app wanted to, Android would not let it send anything out.

Do not take our word for it. Check it yourself.

What we collect on this website

Only what you type into the licence form: your name, email, Device ID and phone model. We use it to issue your key and to answer you. We do not sell or share it. We keep it for [PERIOD] and delete it on request.

Messages you send through the contact and notify-me forms are used only to reply to you.

This website sets no tracking cookies. Privacy-friendly analytics without cookies: [ANALYTICS TOOL, OR WRITE NONE].

Payment is handled by [PAYMENT PROVIDER]. We never see your card details.

Your password and licence

Your password stays on your phone, stored scrambled so it cannot be read back, not even by us.

Your licence is a digital signature, checked on the phone. If you use a company or accountability-partner code, that code is a one-time number, not your password.
